Dragon Quest III HD-2D Remake

Weighted Options

Weighted options allow you to choose how likely a particular option's value is to be used in game generation. The higher a value is weighted, the more likely the option will be chosen. Think of them like entries in a raffle.

Choose the options you would like to play with! You may generate a single-player game from this page, or download an options file you can use to participate in a MultiWorld.

A list of all games you have generated can be found on the User Content page.

Trials Edits

To access the Grand Dragon, you need to enter the Temple of Trials at the end of the postgame and complete all 5 trials to open the door to the boss. However, some of these trials could be seen as not interesting to complete for a randomized game. This option is there to simplify some of the trials to open the door faster. Note that this option is only relevant if playing with a postgame related victory goal. Also note that if victory_goal is set to grand_dragon_medals it will replace the west trial requirement and thus it will be impossible for this trial to be completed automatically by this option, meaning the west trial will always be required. - None: No trials will be modified and all 5 must be completed to open the door - Fast: Completing the east trial will also complete the south and west trials automatically - Very fast: Completing the east trial will also complete the south, west, north-west and north-east trials automatically

Items Options

Filler items Randomizer

Choose how filler items are added to the game's item pool. By default, every filler items in this game are added with a specific quantity (except items in shiny spots) so the randomizer always generate a balanced game. If you prefer to have completely random filler items then you can activate this option. This will guarantee that the randomizer will use filler items at random without a set quantity, but this may generate a harder seed.

Shuffle Rainbow Drop

The Rainbow Drop is an important item that allows you to create the rainbow bridge to Zoma's Castle, where the final boss of the game resides. Enable this option to have it be randomized anywhere in the multiworld. If disabled, it will instead be placed in it's vanilla location, which is the reward from Sanctum's priest after giving him the Sacred Amulet, the Staff of Rain and the Sunstone. Note that this option will have no effect if victory_goal is set to zoma_medals.

Shuffle None items

This game has some chests and pots that are empty, so the randomizer will generate a minimum of 6 'Nothing' items in the item pool, that will give you... nothing. Disabling this option will instead replace those with random filler items. Note that, rarely, a 'Nothing' item could still be generated as a filler.

Additional seeds chance

Select a percentage chance that any random filler items are replaced by a random seed item. This can be used to generate more seeds in the game to help at gaining stats faster. If you want to enable this but are not sure what to write, you should avoid overflowing the item pool with seeds and so you should use a small number like 10 or 20. This option will only work if one or more of those are enabled: random_filler_item_pool, shiny_spots_sanity or shop_sanity.
This is a range option.

Fast animation for rare items

By default, when receiving a rare/important item the game will play the rare item sound effect along with a pretty long animation (to show that the item is important). But if you enable this option, those items will then use the normal get item animation, which is faster but could be missinterpreted for a non important item if you don't know all items very well.
