Slime Rancher 2
Quick Links
What does randomization do in this game?
As Beatrix LeBeau, you explore the Far, Far Range collecting slimes, plorts, and resources. In Archipelago mode, many of the things you'd normally find or unlock in a vanilla playthrough — treasure pods, Gordo slimes, map nodes, Slimepedia entries, Fabricator crafts, drones, the Polestar Provisions shop, and more — become location checks, and your vacpack upgrades, gadgets, and zone access arrive as items sent from across the multiworld. Which categories are randomized, and how strict zone access is, are all controlled by your player options.
What items can appear in other players' worlds?
- Vacpack upgrades (Fabricator components and progressive upgrades)
- Gadgets (teleporters, turrets, warp depots, and other rancher-gifted equipment)
- Region access items, when region access mode is not set to vanilla
- Ranch plot unlocks, buildings, and upgrades
- Conservatory expansion access
- Useful and filler items
- Traps
Where can I find items?
You can find items wherever the corresponding checks are enabled for your seed. This includes:
- Treasure Pods scattered across the Far, Far Range
- Gordo slimes
- Map Data Nodes
- Slimepedia entries (Slimes, Resources, and Radiant Slimes)
- Fabricator crafts
- Research and Ghostly Drones
- Polestar Provisions shop purchases
- Conservatory expansions
- Rancher CommStation conversations, depending on your Conversation Checks setting
What are the item name groups?
When you attempt to hint for items in Archipelago you can use either the name for the specific item, or the name of a group of items. Hinting for a group will choose a random item from the group that you do not currently have and hint for it.
The groups you can use for Slime Rancher 2 are:
- Region Access - Items that unlock access to a new zone
- Upgrades - Progressive Fabricator/vacpack upgrades
- Gadgets - Rancher-gifted gadgets (teleporters, turrets, warp depots, etc.)
- Useful - Items considered useful but not required for progression
- Filler - Generic filler items
- Traps - Items with a negative effect when received
Other changes
- The Goal option determines your win condition: opening both Grey Labyrinth entrances, reaching a lifetime Newbucks threshold, stabilizing the Prismacore, or completing your enabled Slimepedia categories.
- Region Access Mode controls whether zone gates behave as in vanilla, require a Region Access item, or bundle Region Access with an automatically granted zone teleporter blueprint.
- Conversation Checks controls whether rancher CommStation conversations are turned into location checks instead of granting their gifts directly.
What do I do if I have a problem?
If you believe something happened that isn't intended, please get your log file from the SlimeRancher2-AP mod folder and send a bug report either on the SlimeRancher2-AP GitHub or the Archipelago Discord Server.
