What does randomization do to this game?

All abilities (optionally including the basic hover and melee attack), health upgrades, hover upgrades, and lore entries are shuffled into the item pool.

What other changes are made to the game?

The cutscene where a path gets blocked early on in the giant tree does not play, allowing easier backtracking. Restarting from the main menu will also retain progress from items previously obtained.
