What does randomization do to this game?

Treasure chests and hack boxes become checks, and so can 4SPGs (side quests, bounties and main requests) and Grim Garten chests and domain clears. Each act route (Act I - A, B and C, the six Act II routes, the six Act III routes and the Finale) is locked behind an item. The story still follows the game's Time Chart order.

What is the goal?

Defeat the final boss. The final boss door opens once the goal condition chosen in your options is met.

What about missable checks?

Hold R3 (or a keyboard key) while opening the pause menu to open the Act Menu, and replay any act you have cleared. Opened chests, items and finished checks are kept, and "Return to current act" takes you back.
